Submerged City No.2

Surreal Climate Change Art

***decorative, surreal, meaningful

The world is upside down. Oceans levels are rising, glaciers are melting, coastal flooding is happening. Yet we only see the tip of the iceberg.

This artwork explores the boundaries between aesthetically pleasing, decorative art and the underlying message about the environment and global warming. Discover an artwork that can adorn your living room and do much more: give you a meaning and a higher purpose, to protect and respect our environment.

Wall art can change not only the appearance of your home interior, but also your mood and wellbeing.

Surrealism Meets Decorative

This artwork is a happy mixture of digital and traditional media. Some parts of it are created in watercolor on cold press paper, later scanned and processed in Photoshop.

The upside down buildings are photos of an ancient medieval wall from a city that I recently visited, in Transylvania. The perfume of an old city surpasses all experiences. By submerging it into the abyss, it became a timeless Atlantis.

I also love to use decorative patterns. The secret geometry behind repeating patterns is a form of liberation from any particular thought, it’s an automatism that brings my art closer to the Surrealist realm.

A lot of my surrealist paintings are created with a dominant blue color palette. Blue is a soothing, dream-inducing color. I wrote a bit more about the hidden psychology of blue in THIS article.
